Poland combines modest tuition, low living costs by European standards, and a growing number of English-taught degrees. That combination has made it one of the fastest-growing corridors for Pakistani students, and the growth has consequences.
The most immediate is appointment scarcity. Slots at the Polish representation are limited and are consumed quickly at peak season, and an application that cannot be lodged cannot be decided. Booking the appointment is therefore a planning milestone in its own right, not an administrative afterthought.
The file
Expect the admission decision, proof of payment of fees where applicable, evidence of sufficient means for the stay and the return journey, health insurance valid in Poland, accommodation confirmation, and academic documents with recognition where required.
Poland is attentive to the genuineness of the study intention. Files that look like an immigration route with a course attached are refused, and the pattern is recognisable to officers who see it daily.
Legalisation of documents
Pakistani educational documents will require apostille or legalisation depending on the current arrangement, and the sequence runs through HEC and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before the mission. This chain is the usual bottleneck.
Confirm the current requirement rather than following a guide from an earlier year. Requirements in this corridor have changed more than once.
After arrival
A long-stay visa admits you; a temporary residence permit is what allows you to remain for the length of a multi-year degree. Apply for it in good time, because processing in the larger cities is slow and your legal stay depends on having applied before the visa expires, not on having received the decision.
Register your address as required and keep the documentation. It is requested more often than you would expect.
