The 28-Day Rule Is a Daily Minimum, Not an Average

The most common UK visa refusal among Pakistani applicants comes from misreading one sentence in the financial requirement.

UK student visa financial evidence must show the required funds held for 28 consecutive days, with the closing balance dated no more than 31 days before you apply. Applicants read this and hear 'roughly a month of savings'. Visa officers read it as a daily minimum with no tolerance.

If your balance dips below the threshold on a single day — day nineteen of twenty-eight, for a routine transfer — the clock resets entirely. Not partially. Entirely.

Where the money comes from matters as much as the amount

A large deposit landing days before you apply raises exactly the question you do not want asked. Sponsor funds need a documented relationship, a documented source, and ideally enough history that the balance looks like savings rather than a staged arrangement.

This is why we age financial evidence well beyond the 28-day minimum wherever the timeline permits. Forty-five days of clean history costs nothing extra and removes an entire category of doubt.

The credibility interview reads your bank statement too

The financial file and the credibility interview are not separate tests. An applicant who cannot explain where their funding came from, in plain terms, undermines a technically compliant bank statement in about fifteen seconds.

Know your own numbers. It sounds obvious. It is the single most common preventable failure in the room.
